Founded in 1929 in Lawrence, Mass. as Greico Bros. by Nicholas and Vito Greico Southwick has always adhered to the "natural shoulder" approach to American tailoring that is such a mainstay of American style. Unlike many other clothiers Southwick are one of the few that still make their garments in the United States--now, at Haverhill, Mass. rather than at Lawrence.
Southwick are one of the premier suppliers to Brooks Brothers' top lines, including Golden Fleece and their MTM program.
This jacket is a lovely example of Southwick's offerings--and it has the added bonus of originally being sold by the traditional (and now long gone) store Roots of New Jersey. (Which serving the New Jersey of Old Princeton, rather than the New Jersey of the New Shore!)
Cut as a contemporary two-button jacket with subtle darts this is a lovely peat and beige houndstooth with a subtle overcheck in rosehip red. It is half canvassed and fully lined, has a single center vent, and lovely natural shoulders.
It was, of course Union Made in the USA and is in excellent condition.
Asking just $35, or offer, boxed and shipped in the USA.
